Ardrossan Academy Dead Earth Subtopic – climate change

I will be successful if I can : Lesson Title: What effect does climate change have on our planet Learning Intention: Learn about  the effects of increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere  on climate and organisms Activity: I will be successful if I can : Produce an informative and interesting PowerPoint on how climate change effects a living animal on our planet

Effects of climate change on living things It has taken million of years for life to become used to the conditions on Earth. As weather and temperature changes, the homes of plants and animals will be affected all over the world.

Examples of Animals affected by climate change For example, polar bears and seals, will have to find new land for hunting and living, if the ice in the Arctic melts.

Many animals and plants may not be able to cope with these changes and could die. This could cause the loss of some animal and plant species in certain areas of the world or everywhere on Earth.

Your Challenge In your group pick an animal from the list below and research how climate change will endanger the life of your chosen animal. Polar bears Seals Sea birds e.g. ivory gulls Walruses
