Presentation transcript:

Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Brown. Newsletter Reception Class 3rd March 2017 Literacy This week we have been writing lists of the different animals we have seen on our Arctic Ocean adventures. We have also been making and tasting pancakes. We have been labelling our favourite topics and ingredients we used to make our pancakes. In addition to this we have been focusing on writing our phase 3 digraph and trigraph sounds. This week the children have been on an underwater adventure in a submarine to look at animals in the Arctic Ocean. We saw lots of different animals on our journey such as seals, orca whales and ice fish. The children have also enjoyed going ice fishing. As well as this we have continued to watch the growth and changes to the schools chicks and chicken eggs. The children have also had the opportunity to handle the chicks. Phonics This week we have learnt the following Phase 3 sounds; ur and ear. Over the duration of next week please can you complete these sounds in your child’s sound book. Maths This week we have been learning how to share a number of objects between a set number of individuals. Next week we will be focusing on doubling numbers 1-5. Notices . I had planned for the children to learn next about the jungle, but the children have been fascinated by looking at life under the sea. We will continue looking at under the sea for a further two weeks. Homework: Everyone has a phonics challenge to complete in their Learning Together Books. Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Brown.
