Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to create a path you can follow to complete your program at HCC & Beyond. You will also determine how long it will take you to complete your program.

Step 1: Decide Upon a Major Determine whether you want to go Academic or Workforce while here at HCC (your instructor can explain the difference).

Step 2: Locate the degree plan for your major Visit the Career Planner Hccs.edu > Future Students > College & Career Planner http://imc02.hccs.edu/ccp/career-clusters.htm Select a career cluster Decide Academic or Workforce View the degree plan (keep this information for later)

Step 3: Declare Your Major Locate the Declaring Your Major link in the college and career planner form http://imc02.hccs.edu/ccp/declaring-your-major-ce.pdf Complete the form, print it, and turn it in to your instructor Your instructor will submit the form to the registrar.

Step 4: View Your Degree Progress Report Go to your student system and sign in Select “My Academics” Select the first link “View my Advisement Report” View the report and make sure that the correct program is listed. See what requirements you have completed and what classes you still need to take.

Step 5: Select a College Locate a college that you would like to attend. Find the following information about the college: The admission requirements (transfer students may have different requirements than freshman) Make sure to determine if there are different admission requirements for the program you are pursuing. The cost of attendance for one year The degree plan for the program you are seeking *If you are completing a workforce program, select another college that has the program you are pursuing here.

Step 7: Determine the Classes You Need to Take Here Compare your degree progress report from HCC to the degree plan from the institution where you are transferring Use the course equivalency guide to determine which HCC classes have equivalents at your next institution Determine which classes you should take here and which classes you will need to take at the next institution

Step 8: Devise a Plan Using the Degree Outline Form or by creating your own document, plan out which classes you will take and when Determine how long it will take you to complete your program Submit your Degree Outline or Self-created form to your instructor along with the first page of your degree progress report from your student system.

Step 9: Submit You are to submit two items: 1. The Degree Outline Form or a document you created that consists of all of the required information. 2. A copy of pg. 1 of your Degree Progress report (interactive Advisement Report).
