James Farmer- Was the co founder of CORE and helped organize the Freedom Rides. The freedom rides promoted integration of public facilities. The Busses were set on fire at a bus station on their way from D.C to Atlanta, and many of the riders were beaten. James Farmer was arrested in his role in organizing the Freedom Rides
