Review Content Specific Technology Uses Content Area Ideas for Technology Tools/ Software - Projects/ Activities Describe what “idea” you found useful. Include any websites or other resource names as necessary. Tell why you think this is a great idea for instruction! English/ Language Arts I would use Microsoft Basic Software Tools, I found Word and PowerPoint to be a useful learning tool for the students to help them learn their Vocabulary words and definitions. I think these are great ideas because they give the students something to study from and to help them if they need to go back and look. I would use Test Generator( http://mytest.vocabtest.com ) to make their test or quizzes. Math I would use multiple tools for this subject. I would use Drill & Practice, Problem Solving, Instructional Games, I would use IMB to graph data and how to use graphs. To test the students on their improvement and knowledge I would use Microsoft Word to create timed tests and graphs etc. I feel that these are good ideas because for some Math can be difficult and I feel by giving them multiple ways of learning that it will keep the subject interesting. Science For this subject I would use an online tutorial/video, one with a song or mnemonic device if they are learning about the Solar System. I would use Microsoft PowerPoint or Prezi to help the students learn about a certain lesson. I feel like these are some good idea’s because sometimes learning a song to go with a lesson just works and makes learning fun and easier. Social Studies I would use Multimedia/Hypermedia, Research and Reference Tools, Microsoft Basic Software Tools, QRC’s and also Test Generator. I find these idea’s useful because they get the students ready for advancement and helps them to learn key words and look up important dates. Music & Art Word Cloud Generators such as www.wordle.com or www.tagxedo.com to create word clouds, Certificate Maker (http://www.certificatemaker.com ), Puzzle Maker (http:// www.discoveryeducation.com ), Tux Paint to create artwork activities, and I would also use Music Editor to create a CD(s) of the class singing or saying mnemonic devices for them to take home to listen and study with. I would also use pbs.org for more interactive and educational timelines and music history resources. I feel that these idea’s would be helpful to the students because they give the students time to express their selves. Physical Education & Health For my class, I would have my students play Just Dance using the WII or for a ”brain break” turn on a YouTube Kidz Bop Dance video and have them dance around for a couple minutes. I would help them understand how important their health is by going to Kids Health (http://kidshealth.org ). I would also hand out pedometers so students could see how many steps they can take in a day. These idea’s are fun and educational, I feel that the students would have a good time trying to keep up with their health. Special Education Special Education has all different ranges, some types of websites I would use are; Text Readers, Web-Based Stories, Sign Language Recognizers. I would also learn their technology for different types of groups. I’d teach how to use braille, text-to-speech products, electronic quizzes and materials for immediate feedback and provide alternative methods of accessing keyboard, mouse, and/ or monitor. These idea’s are great because it gives each student the opportunity to learn they way that they can.
