Treatment of scabies @ Permethrin 5% (ectomethrin 5%) most effective treatment for scabies &treatment of choice. It is safe for children & adults of all ages , including women who are pregnant or nursing. @ Ivermectin: (Iverazine): It is related to macrolide antibiotics. Ivermectin has been used to treat animal scabies which cause mange. It has been used in humans to treat onchocerciasis, filariasis & intestinal nematodal infection as strongyloidases (Fawcett, R.S. American Family Physician 2OO3 (AAFP career link .ore). It is given as an oral (3 tablets at same time) or topical iverazine lotion. It is not recommended for children at 6 years of age. @ Crotamiton: Eurax cream or lotion. @ Other treatment but less effective : malathion (prioderm), benzyl benzoate, sulfur preparations @ Treatment of lice : Permethrin ( ectomethrin), malathion ( prioderm).
