Historical Background People of Salem, Massachusetts were an extremely religious and pious group. There were many conflicts between neighbors, family members, and the pastor and his flock. Abigail Williams convinces a group of girls to go along with her scheme to accuse different people in the village of witchcraft. There are many speculative reasons as to “Why?” she wanted to do this.

Your Assignment Gather as much research as you can between today and Friday. You must present at least two different theories to a small group in class. From this small group, you and your group members will choose one theory to research completely. You will present your research to the class in a presentation with a memorized speech and visual aid.
