A subordinate clause: Starts with a subordinate conjunction Is followed by a subject and predicate Depends on another subject and predicate (complete sentence) to make sense Example: [If you like ice cream], you should try the Marble Slab Creamery.

Subordinate clause poems… Start with 4 subordinate clauses Each clause is followed by a comma End with a complete sentence (subject and predicate)

A poem might look like this: When I traveled to the airport, After the transport truck jack-knifed, Because the 401 was jam-packed, Since I was stuck in traffic, I almost missed my flight.

Or this: If Bob wants to pass this course, Because he doesn’t want to go to summer school, Since he has a summer part-time job, When the teacher assigns projects, He will hand everything in.
