Question 1: Digital Access DIGC5110- POE

1. Do you have internet access at your tertiary institution (vc)

2. If you have access to the internet whether it be at home or at campus, by what means are you able to access it?

3. As a VC student how are you able to access the internet?

4. As a student which devices do you prefer to use when connecting to the internet?

5. What would you rate your skills when using the internet?

What did the survey show in terms of accessibility? All 30 respondents have access to the internet. 63,3% of people had access to the internet at campus. 16,7% of people don’t have access to the internet at campus. 20% of people said that they only have access to to the internet sometimes at campus.

Did all students surveyed have access to the Internet outside of campus? 30% of students use their mobile data outside of campus.

If not, why do you think this is the case? They don’t have access to the internet because they may not have mobile data or they may not have Wi-Fi at home.

Did socio-economic factors play a role in your findings? Even though some students may not have access to the internet outside of campus, they have access to the internet at campus.

Did everyone have the same level of skill in using technology? All 30 students that responded did not have the same level of skill. From the 30 respondents: - 1 person rated themselves 3 out of 10 - 1 person rated themselves 4 out of 10 - 4 people rated themselves 5 out of 10 - 1 person rated themselves 6 out of 10 - 3 people rated themselves 7 out of 10 - 4 people rated themselves 8 out of 10 - 9 people rated themselves 9 out of 10 - 7 people rated themselves 10 out of 10

Was there a correlation between the level of access available and skills From the 30 respondents that I received the results were not constant.
