Call to Order How does someone become popular? What kind of qualities does a “leader” have?

Lobbyist A person who works for an Interest Group and who works to convince Congressmen to vote how they want them to. Answer: A Fur Coat

Lobbyists go through Revolving Door Cycle Lawmaker? Employees cycle between a job in industry and then a job in gov’t, and back and forth Lobbyist?

You might be more familiar with this “revolving door” in sports.

Phil Jackson Played for the New York Knicks from 1967-1980, where he won two championships. As coach of the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, he has won 12 championships.

Joe Girardi Won three championships with the Yankees during the 90’s. Coached the Yankees to their first World Series since 2000 last year.

TONY DUNGY Won a Super Bowl as a special teams player with the Steelers in 1978. Became the first black head coach to win a Super Bowl in 2007.

JC Watts Former US Representative from Oklahoma from 1995-2003. First black Republican to win in a southern state since reconstruction. Current owner of J.C. Watts Companies, a lobbying and consulting firm.
