If any of these happen to you, tell an adult and the safety captain Batteries There is the possibility of them: – Shorting out – Becoming hot and/or Starting fires – Rupturing, and/or releasing battery acid • Make sure to never cross polarity; to avoid damage, the polarity of the charger and battery should match If any of these happen to you, tell an adult and the safety captain

When An Injury Occurs.. Notify a responsible adult and the safety captain Take action, don’t ignore it! helps to prevent it again in the future

Hazard 1: Sucked into Machine Anticipate: Don’t wear baggy clothing or necklace Mitigate: Take off baggy clothing, know where the off button is, tell other people to take off baggy clothing, know how the machine operates Respond: turn off machine immediately, report injuries, if bad enough call 911

Hazard 2: Robot Anticipate: Avoid Electrocution Mitigate: Don’t work on robot while it is running Respond: Turn off robot before working on it, report all injuries

Hazard 3: Batteries Anticipate: Don’t get acid or burned Mitigate: Don't handle old or damaged batteries Respond:wash with cold water either way. Report. If bad enough call 911
