Unit 1 project: “Job preparation”. In the unit 1 project, you will prepare yourself for the job search by exploring your personal goals and by brainstorming the skills that you have to offer. At the end of the unit, you will write a cover letter designed to make your resume stand out. 4

The main differences are as follows: (P: 198) 1. The simple past refers to events that started at a specific time in the past and finished in the past, while the present perfect does not specify exactly when the event took place. Examples: We went to Chalatenango last month. (Specific time = Simple past) We have gone to Chalatenango. (Indefinite time = Present perfect) 2. The present perfect can also refer to an action that started in the past, continues in the present, and might take place again in the future. They have lived here for five years. (They continue living here). She has studied English for three years. (She continues studying). The present perfect tense follows this basic structure.
