Mrs. King & Mrs. Scairono

Mrs. King is from Libby, Montana, but has also lived in Kansas City, Las Vegas, South Lake Tahoe, Mohave Desert and Chicago. She has a Masters in Administration. A few of her favorite things are coffee and eating out.

Mrs. Scairono is a Slidell native Mrs. Scairono is a Slidell native. She is still a newlywed, and expecting her first child (Colton) in October. She has 4 beautiful step daughters, and her husband is a paramedic. A few of her favorite things are Saints football, LSU and getting her nails done.

Class schedules will be listed on the teacher web pages Class schedules will be listed on the teacher web pages. Schedules differ due to the homerooms having different electives each day. The times remain the same even with different electives.

We do not list rules individually We do not list rules individually. If students are following the school’s 4 expectations there are no problems. Students pledge daily to adhere to these expectations.

Lunch is from 10:55-11:15 Recess is from 11:15-11:35 You are more than welcome to come eat with your child. There are a few guidelines for doing so: Food must either be from home or from the cafeteria. You do not have to wait in line. You sit at the front round table, and they can bring one friend. No adults are allowed on the playground.

Grading Scale 100-93=A 92-85=B 84-75=C 74-67=D 66-0=F

Students should have no more than 30 minutes of homework per night. Math=Monday-Thursday Science=Study or Review ELA=One page of grammar, Fluency, Spelling

Absences=A doctor’s note is needed to be excused. Tardies=5 is a detention. After that, they can result in Saturday detentions. Absences=A doctor’s note is needed to be excused. More than 10 unexcused absences can result in retention. Students have 3 days for each day absent to make up missing work. If not turned in, the grade will be an F.

Wear tennis shoes on Wednesday and Thursday! Not wearing tennis shoes means they can not participate for safety reasons.

Late books can be dropped in the Book Bin upon entering the building. Failure to pay fines results in not being able to check out.

Take home folders are for daily handouts from the office, homework and study guides. Please check nightly.

Thursday is Graded Paper Folders! This will contain all tests taken and their behavior grade. They need to be signed and returned no later than Monday. Please return any D’s or F’s with a parent signature.

Feel free to supply students with a pencil pouch for their art supplies. The Ziploc bags do not hold up very long. Students have the choice of storing their supplies in the classroom or taking them home.

We have two SEVERE peanut allergies We have two SEVERE peanut allergies. When sending in birthday goodies, please be mindful. Also, snacks need to be peanut free. Please cut cakes and cookie cakes into pieces. We do not store knives in class ;-)

To change transportation, it must be in writing. Students can not call home to change their bus transportation.

Planners can be purchased for $5.00 Please use the same ID as last year to log in for viewing grades. You can see the office if you are missing this information. ID numbers have been placed in the front of their planners. Planners can be purchased for $5.00
