IMPLEMENTATION OF AUTOMATIC WATER TANK LEVEL CONTROL USING PIC CONTROLLER Guided by Mr.S.Malaisamy,M.E Presented by M.Muthu kumar R.Prabakaran

Abstract This project is used to prevent the problem occurring in the manual interaction system that is wastage of water, tank overflow and the absence of water inside the tank. Through this setup automation process is achieved by the help of solenoid valve which is controlled through a microcontroller program. It indicates the both high and low level of the water level in the tank. According to the level it initiates the 3HP submersible motor to fill the tank and stops when the higher level is reached. Water Level management approach would help in reducing the power consumption and as well as water overflow. This project can be implemented in domestic tank as a real time.

Block Diagram

Need For The Project To avoid manual work for the automatic tank level system. To reduce wastage of water, power and time consumption. To provide continuous water supply for daily usage.

Existing System Manual work has to be performed in existing method. But this system can’t able to identify the low level, high level of water in the tank. Due to this overflow of water occurs sometimes. No proper management. This causes wastage of water, power and time

Proposed System Water, one of the great natural resources should be utilized in proper form. But a huge amount of water is being wasted during daily life due to lack of control. Our proposed system guarantees to accumulate a good amount of usable water every day. This monitoring and controlling system uses daily life. Due to the fact of controlling conductivity probes. This project introduced a useful wiring automated controlling system.

Components Used Relay Contactor 3-Phase Submersible Motor Conductivity Probe Microcontroller Solenoid Valve Connecting Multiple Wires

Solenoid valve

Contactor circuit 1. A contactor is an electrically controlled switch used for switching a power circuit. 2. A contactor is controlled by a circuit which has a much lower power level than the switched circuit.

Relay

Core features High-performance RISC CPU Only 35 single word instructions Programmable code-protection Power saving SLEEP mode Selectable oscillator options

Conclusion Water is one of the most important basic needs for all living beings. But unfortunately a huge amount of water is being wasted by uncontrolled use. Some other automated water level controlling system is also offered so far but most of the method has some shortness in practice. We tried to overcome these problems and implemented an efficient automated water level monitoring and controlling system. Our intension of this work was to establish a flexible, economical and easy configurable system which can solve our water losing problem. We have been used a low cost PIC 16F877A microcontroller in this system

Future work Even though there are many advancements in the water level controlling system. The project deals with the implementation of controlling the water level in multiple tanks with a single motor with proper priority issues using the solenoid valves. This can be further developed by implementing wireless protocol for the controlling parts so that the wiring cost can be reduced and will be a reliable one.
