Arts and Leisures Hawaiians celebrate by throwing luaus and created the art of hula dancing. Many people made wooden scultures and beautiful paintings of the sea life and scenery.

Basic Needs Fishing industry Normal houses

Communication and Education Hawaiians mainly speak English but also learn to speak their native Hawaiian language. Most children attend normal public schools just like in the rest of the United States, and abide by the same school rules other states do.

Government Hawaii is part of the United States which means they have a Democracy run by the President of the U.S.

Economy Hawaii’s agriculture economy is run by the growth and sale of pineapples, coffee, macadamia nuts, various flowers, avacados, and sugar cane. Many Hawaiians rely on fishing for swordfish and bigeye tuna. The unemployment rate in Hawaii is only 2.7%.

Technology Hawaiians have the same technology we use: phones, computers, televisions, and others. The Hawaiian ancestors used shark tooth clubs and Hawaiian daggers.

Cultural Variations The main culture is Native Hawaiians who descended from the first people to land in Hawaii- the Polynesians. Other cultures in Hawaii include: Asian, African-American, and many Europeans or people with a European background.

Cultural Relativism Cultural Relativism is very important in the Hawaiian culture since many other Americans do not fully understand it. Many times Americans think Hawaiians are outsiders to the country since many of us never talk about them, and since the state is father away.

Cultural Diffusion Hawaiians have spread the tradition of grass skirts and “Hawaiian shirts” throughout the world. Although it is less common, girls still do wear a flower in their hair if they see one they like. The invention of the canoe has widely impacted the rest of the world, and has become a famous sport.
