Today’s Agenda The purpose of today’s meeting is to give students and families an overview of the Early College High School model. The presentation will include a response to the following questions: What is an Early College High School (ECHS)? What is the key difference of an ECHS? What is the difference between an ECHS vs. Traditional Dual Credit? What are the ECHS Logistics? Who is the Higher Education partner? Where can I get more information about ECHS?

What is an Early College High School? Collegiate Academy is an Early College High School (ECHS) created in collaboration with Tarrant County College Northeast and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD giving GCISD students another Pathway to College readiness. ECHS’s blend high school and college course work simultaneously to give students the opportunity to earn up to two years of FREE college credit (60 hours) while they finish high school. Collegiate Academy Basics ECHS students: May earn equivalent to 2 years of college FREE Tuition, books, instructional fees Are grouped in a small cohort No more than = 100 students in each class Able to participate in clubs and activities of their choice

Collegiate Academy Basic Able to earn both college and high school (dual) credit. May choose to transfer ECHS credits to most Texas public colleges and universities. Acceptance policies for private and out of state universities vary.

The Difference – ECHS vs. Traditional Dual Credit   Traditional High School DUAL CREDIT EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL Typically between 3 and 24 hours of credit Offers up to 60 college credit hours free Usually only offered in grades 11 and 12 Structured sequence of courses leading to associate degree or towards a bachelor's degree Students take courses at high school campus during the day or college campus outside the school day or summer Students begin taking college courses as early as 9th grade Collegiate Academy is located on the TCC campus. Students get to experience the college culture

Students will be challenged with a meaningful course of study and real world applications. Time provided to support student learning.

Meet our students ·     We have given you a lot of information and before we answer your questions we wanted to introduce you to a few of our students. Our students are able to give you information about the campus from first hand experience.

Collegiate Academy Recruitment Collegiate Academy applications for the 2018/2019 school are available online or can be picked up from your middle school counselor. Deadline to apply is January 12, 2018 Collegiate Academy Open House January 11th 6:30-7:30 All potential students and parents are welcome to attend our campus open house on January 11th. This is the perfect opportunity to visit the school, learn more about our program, and meet our wonderful staff.
