Poetry Analysis-Music Freshman Literature

How does poetry effect our everyday lives? Do Now How does poetry effect our everyday lives?

S.M.A.R.T Goal By November 17th, 80% of the students in Mrs. Caffey’s Freshman Lit course will be able to analyze poetry and songs evidenced by their depiction activity and poem projects.

Objective Students will be able to: Analyze song lyrics via Discussion Chips Activity Evaluate their knowledge of the elements of poetry by taking the elements of poetry post-assessment

Homework: Due This Week What’s your favorite poem? (List title and author, and write the poem out) If you don’t have a favorite poem, find a poem that speaks to you. What similes and metaphors are present? What is the central idea of this poem?
