Who are you proud of?

Charles Babbage He was a great engineer and inventor. 26 December 1791 – 18 October 1871 He was a great engineer and inventor. He invented a calculating machine in the 19th century. In the 20th century, specialists used his ideas to build the first electronic computer. Parts of his uncompleted mechanisms are on display in the London Science Museum.

Nicholas Patrick 19 November 1964 He was born in Britain and became an engineer. Now he is an American astronaut and he spent 12 days on the International Space Station. His flight on the 2006 made him the fifth Briton to go into space.

Isaac Newton 25 December 1642 – 20 March 1727 He was an English physicist and mathematician who is best known for discovering gravity. He is regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution. He made a lot of important scientific discoveries.

Horatio Nelson (Admiral Nelson) 29 September 1758 – 21 October 1805 He is an English admiral who lost his right arm, and the sight in his right eye, during the wars against France in 1790s. He became a national hero after winning several victories at sea, the most famous was the battle at Trafalgar in 1805.

Sir Stewart Duke Elder 22 April 1898 — 27 March 1978 He is best remembered as a talented and prolific writer and editor, producing seven volumes of Textbook of Ophthalmology and fifteen volumes of System of Ophthalmology, along with many other textbooks and scientific papers that provided the educational foundation for most of the world's ophthalmologists. This contribution to medical literature earned him the title of Fellow of the Royal Society in 1960. He was a famous eye doctor; he treated very serious eye diseases and helped people in trouble.
