Example of Joint Implementation Program: Netherlands: Senter International Eru-PT may help companies investing in energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste processing and afforestation/reforestation in Central and Eastern Europe improve the return on their projects. Through Eru-PT, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of The Netherlands buys the reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions which these projects generate, thus creating an additional source of income to boost the feasibility of projects and accelerate their implementation.
