Dual Credits students who meet the post-secondary institution 70% pass standards will receive credit towards both High School graduation and College Credits For Example –in the Residential House Construction Program, Students receive PSIQ 12A, PSIQ 12B, PSIQ 12C, PSIQ 12D, PSIQ 12E, PSIQ 12F, PSIQ 12G IDS 12A [2 credits] linked to PSIQ

SSA Secondary School Apprenticeship is a career program that provides students with the opportunity to begin an apprenticeship while still in high school, and to earn high school credits for doing so. Students receive 16 High School Credits SSA 11A, SSA 11B, SSA 12A, SSA 12B, After Completion of 480Hours of Work $1000.00 scholarship

ACE-IT Accelerated Enrolment Credits--- Industry training Automotive Service Technician—SASS Hairstylist—PVSS Cabinetmaker—PVSS Power Sports – SASS Cook PC1– ALF Auto Body--ALF What's ACE IT? ACE IT is an industry training program for high school students. SD # 83 offer the following in our schools

There are two ways to gain valuable Work Experience credit Work Exp 12A and 12B (4 credits each) at PVSS. Option 1:   If you are already working a part-time job, visit the Career Centre for a Work Experience package.  120 hours of work will  give you credit for Work Exp 12A, while an additional 120 hours will provide you with another 4 credits (Work Exp 12B).  Option 2:  Take Work Exp 12A and 12B in your timetable and the school will attempt to find you a work experience placement for the semester.  You will be working in the community 1/2 day, every day.

OTHER WAYS TO EARN CREDITS EQUIVALENCY You complete a course outside the BC school system which may be equivalent to a course in the BC system CHALLENGE You show that you already have achieved the Outcomes of a course offered in our School District

OTHER WAYS TO EARN CREDITS EXTERNAL CREDITS You receive credit for some extracurricular activities you participate in after school For Example: Driving Lessons, 4-H, Cadets, Music, Dance, Refereeing INDEPENDENT DIRECTED STUDIES You have a interest in a specific area and you create your own course under the supervision of a teacher

OTHER WAYS TO EARN CREDITS EOP Though Education Outreach Programs you can register for any course PVSS doesn’t offer For Example: Spanish Italian Psychology TEACHER ASSISTANT You can sign up for XTA in any subject area and receive up to 8 Credits towards Graduation. You must have the teachers approval first.
