Project 1: Design Concepts By : COLLIN HARDWICK

Element An Element is any specific words or phrases, individual images, colors, etc., which the audience can read individually to form a meaning behind a text. Concept being used as a famous slogan For McDonald’s. Slogan shows meaning for McDonald’s Concept being used for Equality Purposes.

Emphasis Emphasis: Giving certain elements in a text a greater significance, or importance by placing stress on a certain element. Concept being used to bring out the missing Red puzzle piece, draws attention. Gives the company name “Volcom” more significance by the positioning of the letters.

Lemon, contrasting colors that usually Contrast: The difference between elements so that the combination of those elements makes one element stand out from another. Element used to add significance to the Lemon, contrasting colors that usually Do not go together. Element being used to show contrast between the Desert and the Ocean.

Organization Organization: The way in which elements are arranged to form a coherent unit or functioning whole.  Organization is being used by Arranging images in correct order (coherent). Element is being used to add order or Structure to this essay; Establishes readability.

Alignment Alignment: The way in which elements within a text line up which controls how the viewers eyes move across a text. Alignment is being used by specifically Positioning the “E” and “X” to form an arrow. Element is used by aligning the points Of color pencils and forming a rainbow.

Proximity Proximity: The way in which elements, or groupings of elements, are placed to each other and what relationships are built as a result of that spacing.  Element is used by grouping similar objects And putting them in relation to the outcast. Proximity is used by having the misfits Is a completely different location.

Color Color: Hues from the reflection of light that impact the way a viewer reads/interprets a text. (Could be bold or large) Color is used in the Google logo which makes The reader see it in a more “bright” or “colorful” way. The Element of Color is being established By having only one part of this photo color, Which impacts how the viewer perceives it.

Framing Framing: A way to describe how a visual text is presented, ex: lines that draw a viewers focus. Framing is being used by establishing lines (on hands) which draws the viewers attention. Element is being used in this movie by positioning The actor towards the left to create a full frame (or scene)

Sequence Sequence:  Order in which a series of actions, events, words, or images occurs or is shown. Sequence is being used by showing an order Or series of actions, which allows the reader to Interpret the text. Element is used to show a process, or a series.
