WHAT IS E-LEARNING CONTENT Assignment - MIT 3112 WHAT IS E-LEARNING CONTENT Hemamali Perera (2013/MIT/061) Sanjeewanie Senanayake (2015/MPhil/PT/048)

What is E-learning E-learning involves education via the internet, network, or standalone computer. E-learning applications and processes include web based learning such as distance learning, computer based learning, virtual classrooms and digital collaboration.

What is E-learning Content E-learning content involves the information or content that is delivered to the target audience using digital media. E-learning content should cater to learners with different learning styles. Content can be delivered via the internet, intranet / extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV and DVD/CD ROM.

Components of E-learning content

Factors to consider when designing E-learning content • Establishing the assessment criteria and methods used to asses students • Mapping and then sequencing the key elements of the content. • Applying instructional design effective for online • Technical or multimedia decisions • Deciding which is key content, and needs reinforcement, what material can become secondary links, and which comes under the heading of supplementary or additional learning resources. • congruence between assessment and learning objectives and learning content and learning tasks; clarity; and completeness. • Learning support
