Focus group for visual arts

Starting activity What is visual art? How would they define what visual art is? Would they consider taking a visual art subject ? Must give reasons *individually describe what film studies is

Interactive Game Grouping task... The participants must come up with earning potential ranges for various careers in visual arts... Write on board underneath careers. Team which has the closet range wins prize (graphic designer) - £14,495- £30,599 (photographer)- £13,500- £50k Revisit at the end to reveal

Activity 1 Show a few videos from students’ work from media. Ask them to comment on what they thought was good about the production.

Activity 2 Discuss why most teenagers are still encouraged to take up more academic subjects instead of creative ones.

Activity 3 How can the department be improved so more new students are encouraged to take a visual arts course.
