PROTECT THE PLANET Research CARE-MEDIFLORA partners are institutions of 6 Mediterranean islands involved in plant conservation and the IUCN Mediterranean Island Plant Specialist Group (Lead Partner: CIHEAM MAICh) Duration: April 2016 – December 2018 http://www.care-mediflora.eu/

PROTECT THE PLANET Research Bioclimatic Gene Bank for the Conservation of Mediterranean Flora The operational costs of a Seed Bank are relatively high and many Mediterranean countries are not able to undertake them. Our vision is to design a pilot Mediterranean Seed Bank with standards adjusted to the particular climatic conditions of the Mediterranean and to use alternative energy sources, such as solar energy which will partly reduce their operational cost.
