Today we are here to discuss about how we could tackle the aging population in singapore and how to rebalance the aging workforce so that there are enough workers to support the elderly population. We have identify that one of the main causes to aging population is the low birth rate as there not enough babies born to replace the population. In this presentation we will identify the problem, ideas generate to tackle the problems and solutions we can implement from the ideas generated.

Content Fact Finding Idea Finding Solution 1 Solution 2 Lower Birth Rate Medical Facility Idea Finding SCAMPER Mind Map Solution 1 Solution 2 This is what we will be covering I will now pass this time over to my group member subeom.

Current & Future Age Group of Singapore This is the current ??????????????????????????????

Lower Birth Rate 2016 Total fertility rate (TFR) dropped to 1.20 More getting married but less babies are born More career drive = less time for baby making Lower Birth Rate TFR of 2,1 is needed for population to replace itselfs More singaporeans are getting married but less babies baby are born. Singaporeans are more focused in career. Many families did not include starting a family in their plans. Many woman missed out on their peak of giving birth at ages 25 – 29 and only want childrens at age of 40. Having babies at age of 40 = higher risk.

Policies 1970s- 1980s – stop at two. After 1980s – not enough babies! Gender equality Women to join the workforce Policies

SCAMPER Substitute – Foreign talent to balance workforce Combine – Young and older class working together Adapt – Provide the older working class what they need Modify – Keep elderly people in workforce longer Put in to other use – Advisory/Supervisory roles Eliminate – Eliminate physical and tedious labor from job scope Reverse – Reverse aging DNA in humans

Mind Map

Solution 1 Young and Old Work Together Mentoring system Companies to implement new policies to encourage elder workers back to the workforce

Solution 2 Import Foreign Talent Equal balance of FT and Singaporeans Create new opportunities to learn from FT Cant bring in too many

Conclusion Aging population is a worrying trend Best solution is to improve birth rate Government plays a big part to solve this problem. Eg. Campaigns
