What is Health? Life expectancy and quality of life can be used to evaluate overall health, which consists of physical health, mental health and emotional health, and social health. People’s choices can affect their position on a health continuum. What type of decisions would affect your Health?

Identifying Health Risks Influences on health include heredity, environment, media, technology, healthcare, and behavior. People need to consider the short – and long –term consequences of their behavior. They need to analyze the possible benefits and risks of a decisions.

Taking Responsibility for your Health The broad goals of Healthy People 2020 are to increase the quality and years of healthy life, to eliminate differences in health based on race, ethnic group, or income, to create environments that promote good health, and to promote healthy behaviors across all life stages. Steps to meet personal health goals include gaining awareness, gaining knowledge, and building health skills. NOTE: The Decide Process

Being a Wise Health Consumer Wise health consumers consider product safety, the qualifications of a service provider, and the source of health information.
