Current Medical Scheme System The Government Republic of Zambia, Health Medical Scheme is a low cost medical aid that allows citizens to access health care at most possible minimal amount. It is based on a physical form which families use to register all individuals in the nuclear setup.

Conventional Medical Scheme Form

Current Medical Scheme System Disadvantages Very few individuals, especially in sub-urban areas of Zambia utilise this service due to the time consuming process of accessing and paying for the form. Most people lose such documents due to continuous relocation and the volatile nature of the scheme form. The current medical scheme is limited to a peculiar medical institution or geographical location. Frequent visits to Health centres stressful and costly General population forcefully relying on prescriptions from untrained drug dispensers hence increased events of unexplainable deaths.

New Online and USSD Medical Scheme Affordable Annual payment to be done using Mobile phone via USSD interface Online Access to account for medical updates by users Medical personnel access through a linked network to computers in medical institutions for patient records Drug Administration Diagnosis system

SOCIAL IMPACT Improve Medical health provision by increasing efficiency of delivery through better time management. Increased employment opportunities Change of negative psychological attitude towards health services in Zambia. Allow increased access to medical statistics for epidemic analysis and case observation. Cost effective Health aid. Increased economic performance by users in their day to day activities through reception of better health care.
