Aim of the Project? The aim of this project is to design a new ‘Limited Edition’ range of bottles for the brand; Fever Tree. They are aiming to bring more awareness to the rising number of Malaria victims. Bring awareness to Quinine, a major ingredient to Tonic water. Quinine is used in treating Malaria. A new design for bottles that will bring attention using vital information located on the label.
About Fever Tree First came about in 2005 after a Gin & Tonic tasting session. Set out to create an all natural tonic water, not containing sweeteners or preservatives as most Tonic brands on the market do. All ingredients are sourced from small distributors around the globe, from Congo to the Ivory Coast. All ingredients are chosen to enhance rather than overpower a spirit mixture. Aim to bring awareness to malaria victims and also Quinine with it’s medicinal properties.
Countries Affected
Research required As the product is distributed globally research design will be essential, this allows to see what drinks are most popular within each country. Is there a correlation between them? What age group will the product be aimed at? What sort of design will be both functional and eye-catching, without being too flamboyant or excessive.
How to gather the research? The internet will allow me to see popular product designs from other countries that are not so accessible to me. Questionnaires within local businesses that sell the product to see; Who buys the product? If they don’t then why? What could be improved? Did they know about the work the company is doing to raise awareness? Focus Groups, gather people together in order to gather mixed reviews.
What do I hope to gather? The research will hopefully give me a clear indication as to who buys the product? Why? Why not? What’s popular? What isn’t? Who is aware of the extra work within the company? Do they know of the medicinal properties?
How I will know? Questionnaire results. Popularity polls from overseas. Sales reports. Opinions from current customers that purchase the product.
Once the data has been gathered Once I have received enough feedback then the design process can start. Mock up of draft designs and showcase them to current customers to receive feedback. Once designs have been finalised the design process will take place within 3DS Max in order to get full 3D view of designs.
