Early Man Society- A group of people living and working under a set of rules and traditions. Nomads-a person with no settled home. Paleolithic Era-the earliest period of the stone age. Hunters and Gathers-members of Homo sapiens who spent many hours a day searching for food.

Farmers and City Dwellers Slash And Burn Farming- a system of farming in which thick forestlands are cut and burned to prepare the soil for planting Abu Hureyra-a Neolithic village and excavation site flooded by Lake Assad in 1973 A.D Government- an organized system of leaders and laws Catal Huyuk-a Neolithic town in Southern Anatolia

Mesopotamia Silt-soil and tiny rocks carried or deposited on the land by floodwaters Polytheism-a belief in many different gods Architecture-a style of building Ziggurat-the largest and tallest temple in every Sumerian city- state
