Events on Campus Thurs., Feb. 11, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Fine Arts Hall Santa Fe College will host its third annual Career and Technical Education Showcase. The showcase will feature SF's Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs and the business partners that support those programs. Attendees can get information on which educational program they need to enter in order to align with the career they are interested in. Business members will be on hand to speak with attendees one-on- one about what a career is like in their field of choice. SF's CTE Division prepares students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, and high- demand careers upon graduation. CTE programs include Associate of Science degrees, certificate programs and apprenticeships. Curriculum is designed in collaboration with community partners to allow SF to tailor its programs to meet the needs of the changing job market. This event is free and open to the public. Events off Campus Con. ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN DANCE THEATER February 16, 2016 at 7:30 pm Phillips Center, 3201 Hull Road Gainesville, FL 32611 Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of young African-American modern dancers, that performance changed forever the perception of American dance. The Ailey Company has gone on to perform for an estimated 23 million people at theaters in 48 states and 71 countries on six continents — as well as millions more through television broadcasts. Today, under the leadership of artistic director Robert Battle and through the remarkable artistry of 30 extraordinary dancers, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater continues to celebrate the African-American cultural experience, and to preserve and enrich the American modern dance tradition.
