Brighton High School Highlights __________________________________ Link Crew – Year Two Opening Weeks, Grade Level Assemblies, and Emergency Drills FLEX Homecoming Increased participation Close to 200 students attended dance Urban Suburban Luncheon 34 Students this year! Open House 2016 24-Hour Plays is Back! "Along with wrestling, long-distance running, and the javelin toss, the ancient Olympics included contests in music and poetry. Performers trained for years and traveled great distances to compete" (NEA Poetry Out Loud). Happily, competitors in this year's second annual Poetry Out Loud competition only had to travel to room 262 in the high school. Arranged by English teacher Karen Flynn, 13 students competed from across all grade levels. There were three final winners Natalie Lista (Junior, 1st place) Amir Gibson (Junior, 2nd place) Erica Lubman (Junior, 3rd place) All 3 students will advance to the regional competition in Buffalo in February. Winners of this competition will ultimately travel to Washington, DC to compete at the national level.
