What is Simple Past Tense ? Simple Past Tense is used to talk about actions that happened in the past.

The Simple Past Tense Time Expressions : Yesterday , last month, last year ,last time , last week , many years ago , etc.

Formation of the Simple Past Tense : Regular Verb -ed after the verb Irregular Verbs Play Played Do did Install Installed Be was,were Work Worked Have had Start Started Go went Look Looked Say said Earn Earned Buy bought Want Wanted Come came

Formula : (+) S + V2 + C (-) S + did not + V1 + C (?) Did + S + V1 + C Example : 1. (+) He worked on Sunday. (-) He didn’t work on Sunday. (?) Did he work on Sunday? 2. (+) Rina bought a new laptop last week. (-) She didn’t buy a new laptop last week. (?) Did She buy a new laptop last week?
