7 seconds to make a first impression 20 positive interactions to a wipe-out a negative one GO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPRESSION ON SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW! Find one person you do not know and tell them your reason for attending this session and what you hope to get from it. Lynne

Learning Targets Lynne I can learn about the implementation of Personalized Learning in Eastern Carver County Schools and how special education services (while targeting specific student needs) is enhanced by personalization of these targeted skills. I can identify opportunities to personalize learning for students receiving specialized education services. I can identify benefits of personalizing learning for students who receive specialized education services. http://wearepersonalizedlearning.org/ Lynne

Personalized learning Defined Learning is a personal experience. By co-designing meaningful learning opportunities with teachers and mentors, the individual is at the center of her/his learning. Instruction is something we do with, rather than to, learners to promote growth, achievement, and lifelong success. Lynne

Start with Why, Stay with Why, clear about what and flexible about how! Why are you doing this? Staying with why are you doing this. Clear about what you are doing. Read “LIVE” Naturally example: clear expectations of what you need to do/flexible on how that looks Doesn't happen all at once. It happens in stages. Think of one thing you can do and implement. Once that is mastered, move to another idea Whitney

Personalized Learning in Eastern Carver County Schools

Specialized Education vs. Personalized Learning In specialized education we assess to inform what the instruction should be. (what we are missing) In personalized learning we assess to inform how we work with learners. (how are we learning these things) Think about the above statements. Discuss with your elbow partner “what this means” Lynne
