Representation of community sector on all Longford County Council Committees and other bodies where plans and policies are being developed Develop & implement a vision statement of health & well-being for now and future generations Engage, encourage and support members to participate in public consultations Acts as an information hub

HEALTH & WELL-BEING STATEMENT Social Environmental Cultural Physical political Economic Health & Well-being It requires that economic, political, environmental, cultural and social developments all be sustainable. Basic needs are met People have a sense of purpose and that they feel able to achieve important goals, to participate in society and to live the lives they value and have reason to value. It also requires a focus on inter-generational justice to ensure the well-being of future generations is promoted.

Vision statement of LECP   ‘a regenerated economically sustainable county which values equality of opportunity, excellent quality of life, collaborative community and rural development, sense  of place and where the wellbeing of all residents and future generations is central to everything we do’.

Round Table Discussion Nominate a “facilitator” and “note-taker” for your table Facilitator’s role –encourage everyone at the table to participate Note – taker’s role: write key points on the ‘feedback’ pages provided All information collected will be used to develop County Longford PPN Health & Well- being statement.

Round Table Discussion 3 key Questions: 1) What do we as a PPN want to achieve at County level in relation to social, economic, environmental, cultural and political development? (Your VISION!!!!) 2)How can we achieve this vision for now and future generations? (Actions to be taken working with the LA, working with each other,) 3)How can we ensure that County Longford PPN operates effectively? (Think about how many times we should meet?, What key policies or procedures need to be put in place?, How can the PPN effectively communicate with its members and representatives? ,How can it operate in a transparent and accountable way? What will make it work?
