The Great Place to Work® Model Defines the work of Great Place to Work® in over 40 countries Developed on the basis of research Content: all topics which are important for a company to be seen as a very good employer by its employees Basis for the questionnaire used in the employee survey The Great Place to Work® Model Credibility – transparent communication, competent leadership, managers behave with integrity Respect – employees are encouraged and valued, working as a team, caring about and respecting each other Fairness – balanced pay, neutrality – no preferential treatment, just - no discrimination Pride – proud of your own work, proud of your team’s work, proud of the company’s performance Camaraderie – sense of belonging and familiarity, friendly working atmosphere, all pulling in the same direction A ‘great place to work’ is a workplace where you trust who you are working for, are proud of what you do and enjoy working with your fellow staff. The questionnaire Standard for companies or organisations from all sectors sized 50 EE upwards 63 characteristics, demographic questions and three open questions Takes around 15 minutes to complete

Focus on workplace culture “Managers make their expectations clear.” “We have a friendly working atmosphere here.” When deciding on your answer please think of all the managers you encounter in your work – from your line manager all the way to the senior managers. When answering please think of your experiences in your immediate working area and equally your experiences above and beyond this.

Who takes part? Employees who have worked fewer than three months at the company at the start of the Great Place to Work® survey Those working a “mini job” Must: all active employees including trainees, dual degree students or working students if they do not meet the aforementioned criteria Can: Employees on long-term absence (parental leave, long-term sickness, secondments, early retirement – participation is at the discretion of the company. Special provision: temps, freelance staff, freelance sales agents, employees abroad

How does the online survey work?   How does the online survey work? Invitation e-mail Answer questionnaire Finish questionnaire Invitation e-mail with link to questionnaire is sent by GPtW to all participants Employees are given enough time and space to answer the online questionnaire during working hours in peace and quiet at their place of work Online questionnaire is sent to GPtW by clicking on ”Send off questionnaire”

How does the code letter survey work?   How does the code letter survey work? Enter link & individual access code Answer & send off survey Code letter Code letters are provided by GPtW Project manager or manger at the company distributes the code letters Employees call up the link to the survey portal contained in the code brief manually Enter their individual access code to launch the survey Employees are given enough time and space to answer the online questionnaire in peace at the workplace during working hours Online questionnaire is sent to GPtW by clicking “Send off questionnaire”

How does the printed survey work?   Questionnaires Complete questionnaire Send off questionnaire Questionnaires and return envelopes are provided by GPtW Distributed at the company by project managers or managers Employees are given enough time and space to complete the questionnaire in peace at the workplace during working hours Sent by letter (recipient pays postage) or Employees put the completed questionnaire into a dedicated collection box

Survey rules Participating in the survey is voluntary! Anyone who does not wish to take part does not have to. But we are of course pleased if there is a high participation rate. Participating in the survey is anonymous! Data privacy provisions are strictly adhered to. No one in your company – apart from the participant in question – can look at the individual questionnaires. Data privacy at Great Place to Work® Great Place to Work® is subject to the particularly high professional conduct requirements relating to data privacy that apply to market and opinion researchers. Questionnaires are not analysed inside the company but only by Great Place to Work® No one can view the questionnaires outside of Great Place to Work®. The company is only provided with the reports of the results. There is a strict ban on results based on the answers of fewer than 5 employees when calculating results. No combinations of socio-demographic characteristics.

After the survey the work continues! << Please provide a look ahead to the steps following a survey here>> The aim: To identify the rights conclusions and aims resulting from the survey and to permanently improve the workplace culture.

Your role as a manager Advertise and promote the survey and invite staff to participate. Create the organisational prerequisites for your employees to be able to take part. Observe the rules – anonymity, voluntary participation, honesty. Lead by example and take part in the survey yourself. Be open to the feedback you will get. Prepare yourself for the dialogue and work on improvements together as a team.
