Design templates Producing your own design for a presentation is quite hard. It is easier to use a template. Templates provide the design (e.g., positioning of items, font types and sizes, backgrounds, etc.). You simply have to enter your own content.

Animation Did you notice the material on the first slide and the way it appeared on the slide? This is an example of animation. You can animate the way material goes onto a slide (this is done by the presentation software). You can also create your own animations and add them to a presentation.

Examples of animation Animation in PowerPoint can be classed as subtle, moderate or exciting. This is classed as subtle animation.

Examples of animation This is an example of moderate animation. Notice the way the letters spin to form the words. What do you think about this? Is it good or a distraction?

Examples of animation This is an example of exciting animation. Remember your target audience when using animation. One audience will think it is great whilst another audience will find it annoying.
