The scholarship will cover travel expenses and the course fee. Course description: The software package “Surpac” is one of the world’s most popular geology and mine planning software, supporting open pit and underground operations and exploration projects. It is widely used by mining companies in Fennoscandia and worldwide. Exposure and basic competence in this software package are important factors that will help geology and mining engineering students to find their first employment after graduation. Teaching of this Surpac course is provided by the Finnish branch of WSP in Helsinki, which operate as consultants to the mining and construction industry. Hence, experts with a wide background in the real life application of the Surpac software package will give the course. The course language is English. NordMin is offering scholarships to MSc level students registered at a Nordic university with suitable background, such as mining engineering, mineral processing or economic geology. The scholarship will cover travel expenses and the course fee.
