London: One Day, One City

Tag Line – Brief Introduction My Tag Line is called, London: One Day, One City. My Project will be a medium of a video that shows the energetic life of London and shows City Culture at its finest. My main aim of my FMP is to motivate and Inspire young people to travel and explore outside of their home town or even their own city and go and visit London. I want people to want to go to London… I have specifically chosen London because it is a personal favourite city of mine.

Specific Areas? This covers locations… Obviously London is HUGE. So you may be thinking, where are you going to film, there are too many places? Well, this map pin points rough areas I will be filming in… AREAS Covent Garden Westminster Southbank Tate Galleries SOHO The City This covers locations… MAP REFERENCE – 2017 - Maproom.net – Google.co.uk – Last Accessed 24/04/17 - https://maproom.net/wp-content/uploads/Maproom-Central-London-major-features-5.jpg

The Synopsis… My aim is to explore London and Capture the energy and vibrance of the city through Cinematic and inspiring video footage. It is meant to be a lively video that represents a rush of city life and inspirational images that will impact the audiences interpretation of London. My aim is to keep the video within the 3 to 5 minute length. My Target Audience can expect to see London at its finest and a clear video showing different aspects and culture of city life. My main goal is to inspire, that is it. I want people to be more interesting with where they explore.

The Treatment… What is the key question you are asking? There is no Key Question, just a key point that I want to make. I want to show people how great London is. So many people visit it as a ‘’Tourist’’ and only go to the well known areas and attractions. I want to focus on the streets, Architecture, life and the Art in the City and show that there is ‘more than meets the eye’. Who is in the film? There is no actors or people I have specifically asked to be in the film. It will be filmed, edited and Directed by me. It is a free flowing and cinematic video that looks at the movement and city culture, so there is no actors needed. It isn’t a Documentary either, so I don’t need to find people to feature in my video. Where will you film? I will be filming the entire video in London. The video is about London so it is only suitable. I will be using different areas in the city to complete my video. This is because I want different variations of places that London has to offer. I will use my camera, Tripod and I may even hire a microphone to record sound pieces, but that is something I am thinking about. I also have a small stabilizer that I may use to keep trying to get those cinematic type of shots. I know London well so this video is going to be great for me. How will I put it together? Essentially I will be using Adobe Premiere to edit and put my footage together in Post Production. I have been watching tutorials and various videos on how to do specific effects and transitions etc. This is all in preparation for editing. In terms of getting the actual footage I will be filming with a camera and using hand held skills to capture the video I want to make my video.

Target Audience? So the main question that comes under this part of the proposal, is who is my target audience? Or who am I making this video for? Well, it’s simple. I am aiming to make my video for young people, specifically 16 to 20 year olds etc. I want to use this base of an audience because I feel it is something I relate to, being a 16 year old. But I also want to use young people because I want to ‘Inspire’ them to travel and to go elsewhere out of their local town or even city. But since London is such a personal interest of mine, I want to share it with others too. My main goal is to make people more open minded and daring with the places they explore. I want city culture to be a part of their knowledge, and with young people known to try new things, I can’t see this goal being a problem as most young people want to Travel! The next thing I want to explain is why my Target Audience would be interested in my video. Essentially, I am confident that my choice in Target Audience is a strong choice. This is because, like I have mentioned, I am young and can try to relate to other young peoples interests. But I feel like young people are inspired the most. They have the rest of their lives ahead of them and aspire to do a lot of things in that space of time. Travelling is definitely a strong interest in people, specifically, the audience I am aiming at. I want to reach out and make something that almost amazes people and makes them want to go out to London. I feel that this audience of young people is a stable and appropriate choice for my aim of inspiring people.

Target Audience Continued… I looked at some statistics and articles that back up my project Idea and my Target Audience choice. I found some various articles that show young people are showing a growing interest in Travelling. I will add some screenshots and their websites too. First I will put some statistics then some Article screenshots… FACTS & STATISTICS In the year 2012, a huge 217 Billion Dollars of Tourism worldwide actually came from Young people. Students spending money has increased by 40%! A study has found that Young people are spending longer time away from home and longer travelling. 22% of young people wanted to learn another language other than English. I used this to help me - https://www.forbes.com/sites/tanyamohn/2013/10/07/the-new-young-traveler-boom/#11d99b544ff1

Target Audience Still Continued… Here are some article screenshots that are about young people and travelling… SCREENSHOT FROM - https://www.forbes.com/sites/tanyamohn/2013/10/07/the-new-young-traveler-boom/#11d99b544ff1 SCREENSHOT FROM - https://www.forbes.com/sites/lealane/2016/01/15/are-millennial-travel-trends-shifting-in-2016-youll-be-surprised/#4321fba136a8 SCREENSHOT FROM - http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/ST.INT.RCPT.CD

What is the key question? The Key question I want people to think is, ‘’Am I exploring enough?’’ I want this to be a big part of the videos meaning. Like I have said a lot of times, is that it is supposed to be inspirational and make people want to explore. What are the issues you want your viewer to think about? There are no big issues, my video is a positive and motivational video, all I want is for people to explore and find out what they love about Travelling. Your film subject (person, group, environment, social issues etc.) My film subject is city life captured with cinematic footage. It is based in a loud and energetic environment, obviously the city. Also my video doesn’t really cover any specific social issues. Yes it is about youth, but it isn’t about issues. It is more encouragement to make young people want to explore etc.
