The Multiplexer or MUX Is just another name for a switch that can select from a lot of different inputs. We are going to look at an 8 input Multiplexer.

MUX Given a number between 0 and 7, the MUX will select one ‘track’ to let trains through.

The MUX The MUX can be used to select what memory location to read next.

Demultiplexer or DEMUX The DEMUX allows one input to be sent one of several outputs. For example if you wanted to send data to a selected memory location.
