History The first Bugs Bunny cartoon premiered in 1940 in A Wild Hare. This started a series of animations titled ‘Merrie Melodies’. Characters introduced in Merrie Melodies were originally going to be one-shots. However, the thought of reoccurring chararcters stuck. History
