Hayaat women trust

Introduction Organizational Back ground Hayaat Women Trust is a Non-profit and humanitarian Organization established in 2011 and founded by African lady to improve the lives of African women particularly in East Africa, a general objectives of ‘’ To Empower women’s in wales and Africa particularly Horn of Africa. Our services geared towards who are socially excluded on the ground of their ethnic origin or gender and disabilities within the local community to access socio-economic services uphold their rights to fully be able participate in their daily lives without discrimination which include entitlement to employment etc.

Goals; Gender and Development awareness activities Prevention of child marriage, FGM etc. Mental health awareness and sponsorship programme Maternal Health Education and empowerment of young girls. Working with vulnerable children and women

Miyir project: Workshop to spread awareness of mental health to the Somali community in wales Discussions about the stigma attached to mental heath and how to eradicate that kind of thought Addressing the basic needs and steps to follow and seek professional help Improving the quality of life of people with Disabilities and their families.

Achievements in Somaliland Formal structured system has been developed by the Diaspora women group in Cardiff in contributing in developmental in Somaliland. Mental Health Workers have benefited from training of Mental Health Awareness. Diaspora Community has fundraised in building of the Hargeisa Mental Health Hospital Kitchen. Life saving skills has been delivered to Somaliland Midwives association, which has improved maternal health. Link continues to thrive with further projects being developed in relation to meeting our developmental goals.
