Gum ulcer are very common, occurring in association with many diseases and by many different mechanisms, but usually there is no serious underlying cause. Treatment gum ulcer Treatment is cause-related, to symptomatic Maintaining good oral. Atopical analgesic (e.g. benzydamine mouthwash) may reduce pain. Anti- inflammation such as (gels, creams or inhalers) or systemic steroids may be used to reduce inflammation. antifungal drug may be used to prevent oral candidiasis People with gum ulcers may prefer to avoid hot or spicy foods, which can increase the pain. In both types of peptic ulceration, gastric and duodenal, there is an imbalance between secretion and neutralization of secreted acid. In duodenal ulcers there is an oversecretion of acid whilst in gastric ulcers there is an impairment of mucosal protection
