Vision Statement AgGateway is the trusted leader in enabling digital agriculture…. a trusted forum where: Resources are developed Global collaboration occurs Members are equipped to realize benefits of digital ag Industry maximizes information to operate profitably, safely, and sustainably. Back to our vision statement, to be the trusted leader in enabling digital agriculture. Our new vision statement has some additional language to talk about what being a leader looks like: “AgGateway provides the trusted forum where resources are developed, global collaboration occurs, members are equipped so they can realize the benefits of digital agriculture, and the industry maximizes the power of information to operate profitably, safely, and sustainably.” The board feels that this vision is broad enough to encompass the breadth of AgGateway activities, and to evolve over time.

Digital Agriculture Production of food, fiber and biofuels through processes that are increasingly autonomous and driven by ever more effective models, with data input that is more timely, relevant, accurate and complete.… to maximize profitability, sustainability and environmental protection. Here’s how we’re currently defining “digital agriculture”, based on how it is being used in the industry today. “The production of food, fiber and biofuels through processes that are increasingly autonomous and driven by ever more effective models, with data input that is more timely, relevant, accurate and complete.” What is driving this movement? The desire, the need, to maximize profitability, sustainability and environmental protection, in optimal balance.

Mission Statement To promote and enable the industry’s transition to digital agriculture and expand the use of information to maximize efficiency and productivity. Next, to our new mission statement. The role of a mission statement is to describe our overall purpose -- what we do, who we do it for, and the benefit. So our Mission Statement going forward is to promote and enable the industry’s transition to digital agriculture and expand the use of information to maximize efficiency and productivity.

5-Year Strategic Plan (2018-22) Main goals: Establish Digital Ag Leadership Ensure Member Value Increase Membership and Engagement Now let me turn to the 5-year strategic plan that flows from our vision and mission. We identified 3 main goals for that plan – establishing digital ag leadership, ensuring member value, and increasing our membership and the industry’s engagement in AgGateway activities. I’ll walk through each of these in a little more detail.

5-Year Strategic Plan (2018-22) Digital Ag Leadership: Establish AgGateway as the leader in the transition to digital agriculture by enabling development and implementation of capabilities that efficiently integrate the entire value chain. The first goal, in more detail, is to establish AgGateway as the leader in the transition to digital ag – and we’ll do that by helping develop and implement resources for efficient integration along the entire value chain.

Digital Ag Leadership In 2018: Increase message implementation with new trading partners. Accelerate adoption of the ADAPT framework. Identify new resources to facilitate eConnectivity. Here are a few things we’ll be doing next year to help make this happen: We’ll work to increase implementation of existing messages with new trading partners. We’ll support the adoption of the ADAPT framework in precision agriculture, and We’ll identify new potential resources that would further facilitate eConnectivity.

5-Year Strategic Plan (2018-22) 2. Member Value: Ensure AgGateway provides value through expanding influence, developing solutions to industry challenges, and implementing strategies which allow for growth and investment. The second goal is to ensure member value by increasing our impact and influence, and by developing and implementing strategies that allow our members and the industry to grow and prosper.

Member Value Strengthen outreach to other groups In 2018: Strengthen outreach to other groups Reach out to new associate members Explore growth and investment opportunities for AgGateway over the next 5 years. Here are a few things we’ll be doing next year to help make this happen: We’ll strengthen our current work with other organizations and associations, and reach out to new associate members. We’ll define specific growth and investment opportunities for AgGateway over the next 5 years.

5-Year Strategic Plan (2018-22) Digital Ag Leadership Member Value Increase Membership and Engagement in AgGateway to accelerate the digital agriculture transformation. The third goal is to Increase Membership and Engagement. This will help us lead the industry toward the benefits of digital agriculture. We’ll achieve this by demonstrating value and by communicating all the good work we do – the opportunities and achievements.

Increase Engagement Implement a targeted membership growth strategy Engage allied providers; develop plans to implement AgGateway standards and resources Re-engage members who are relatively inactive Initiate a new significant connectivity activity To move this forward in 2018: We’ll implement a targeted membership growth strategy, and actively recruit new members. We’ll engage allied providers to help spur implementation of AgGateway standards and resources in a way that is mutually beneficial. We’ll re-engage some of our members who have been relatively inactive. And we’ll initiate at least one new significant connectivity activity – such as a project or initiative.
