Brain Break What is this? Answer: H20 (WATER)

Kahoot

Algebra Worksheet When I say go, take 15 minutes to work silently and independently on the worksheet.

Shout Outs 1 minute Take one post it from your bin and write A positive shout out to another student OR A way you used growth mindset (GM) today Example 1: “Shout out to Brandon for helping me understand how to graph.” Example 2: “I used GM today by trying to solve without a calculator even though I always use a calculator.”

Quote of the Day Reflection I made an easy, medium and hard worksheet but WAY TOO HARD. Need to make easy, ACTUALLY EASY. It’s more important for students to be bought in (and then challenged) than to start them with a challenge. First two variable problem was like this: S + T = 15 S – T = 5. An easier two variable problem would have been S + 5 = 8 S + T = 12 Need to edit Kahoot (there’s a repeat question). Also one of the questions was way too hard (I can’t even do in my head). I did make the Kahoot really quickly HOWEVER, students were engaged during the Do Now. I’m excited to see that play out this year. (First time with whiteboards) The brain break was well timed (after a 20 minute activity)
