Fire Protection Agencies Advisory Council “FPAAC” Mission: Promoting safety, fire protection and enhanced navigation on the Lower Columbia and Willamette Rivers Vessel docked at North Pacific Grain Growers which currently is named TEMCO, LLC. USCG incurred one fatality & one injured.

Area of Coverage FPAAC covers from Columbia River mile 0 to mile 115 and about 10 miles of the Willamete River. There are “gaps” in coverage on the Oregon side between Clatskanie (Knappa, Svenson, Bradwood) and Astoria. As well there is no coverage on the Washington side from Longview to the Columbia bar (Cathlamet, Greys River, Naselle, Chinook, Illwaco).

Program Components Commitment from each participating agency Training program Response planning Specialized equipment Networking / resource sharing Recognizing and working through existing plans and guidelines With lessons learned over the years, agencies have had a commitment to MFSA & FPAAC to provide resources and response if the need arises. As part of that commitment, pre-planning and continued training occurs on a consistent basis. The pre-planning and training utilize the NW Area Contingency Plan, CFR155, oil spill response and FPAAC fire ops guide as the frame work for up to date, consistent material.
