Tryon students surpassed The Paw Print Tryon Elementary School November 2017 www.gaston.k12.nc.us/tryon Congratulations Joshua Haynes! The Gaston Gazette honors students in our community, who distinguish themselves by their commendable actions. The program is called “Do The Right Thing.” Mrs. Seely, the cafeteria manager nominated Joshua for his kindness and willingness to help the cafeteria workers and younger students at breakfast. Tryon is proud of Joshua’s recognition. He was honored at a luncheon where he met the Superintendent of GCS and the Gaston County Sherriff.. Nov. 7th 4th Grade Veteran’s Day Program 6 pm Nov. 9th Report Cards Nov. 10th No School ~ Veteran’s Day Nov. 15th Holiday Pictures Nov. 16th Thanksgiving Meal Nov. 22nd -24th District and School Report Cards will be coming home soon. Please contact the school if you have any questions. Tryon students surpassed the first 9 weeks AR reading goal. Students earned 4307.4 points. Students were challenged by Mr. Dellinger to meet their reading goal. He will be eating BUGS in the near future. FOOD DRIVE November 1st - 9th . Thank you for your support as we tried a new vendor, Usborne Books, for our recent book fair.  It was very successful! We were able to get $1300 in free books!  We can't wait for our additional shelves to arrive so we can enjoy these and other new books.  Many of the students asked about the usual book fair we have, and that Scholastic Book Fair will be held in December   There will be more popular book titles on that fair, as well as, posters and "stuff".  We always appreciate your support so that we can get books and other supplies needed in our media center. As the weather gets cooler, take some time out to relax with your child and a good book.  Happy Reading! Parent-Teacher Conference Day Parent-Teacher Conference day was huge success at Tryon Elementary. Tryon had a participation rate of 71%. Working together, we can continue to make this school year the “Purrfect” place to learn for your child. Remember to stay in touch with your child’s teacher throughout the year and make sure contact numbers stay up to date in case of an emergency Thanksgiving Meal Thursday, November 16th for K-2 Parents Cost $4.00 per person Tryon School is the Purrrrfect place to learn.
