Methodology Data Sources: 388 electronic survey forms 36 paper interview survey forms 26 forms completed by homeless service providers 5 paper observational survey forms 8 paper youth survey forms

Santa Barbara County Total: 1,489 people Compared to 2015: +2% Total Unsheltered: 629 (42%) Total Sheltered: 860 (58%) The homeless population counted in the County overall has been remarkably stable over the past 8 years.

Santa Maria Total: 338 people Compared to 2015: + 4% Total Unsheltered: 85 (25%) Total Sheltered: 253 (75%) Most homeless kids in Santa Barbara County under 18: 74

Lompoc Total: 219 people Compared to 2015: + 89% Total Unsheltered: 67 (31%) Total Sheltered: 152 (69%) Largest count increase in the county, probably due to improved outreach to the homeless community

Santa Ynez Total: 1 person 2011: 6 people 2013: 24 people 2015: 4 people The river bed had no people living in it.

Isla Vista Total: 26 people Compared to 2016: + 37% Total Unsheltered: 11 (42%) Total Sheltered: 15 (58%)

Goleta Total: 99 people Compared to 2015: + 15% Total Unsheltered: 99 (100%) Goleta is the only region in South Santa Barbara County without a Freedom Warming Center.

Santa Barbara Total: 790 people Compared to 2015: - 12% Total Unsheltered: 363 (46%) Total Sheltered: 427 (54%) Santa Barbara is the only region in South Santa Barbara County with a consistent downward trend over the past 8 years.

Carpinteria Total: 16 people Compared to 2015: - 11% Total Unsheltered: 3 (19%) Total Sheltered: 13 (81%)
