Design ad campaign netflix By OLIVIA SOTO

Objective The goal that we are trying to reach for Netflix is to expand our arms to companies in countries we have not yet reached yet. As a company that has a wide variety of media with different genres and styles, we want to target all kinds of audiences with different interests and passions.

Netflix now Netflix is an entertainment company that specializes in providing media and originals for members that pay only 7.99 a month. Netflix has about 100,000 movies and TV shows, and has about 30 million subscribers, plus 7.75 million internationally. Netflix is something that just about everyone enjoys and goes to when they want to watch an interesting movie or television show produced by multiple networks and production companies.

Reed Hastings The history of Netflix Reed Hastings, the sole creator of what is now Netflix, was a software engineer that founded Netflix in 1997. It is rumored that Hastings came up with the idea for creating Netflix after being charged forty dollars from Blockbuster for a late movie. Netflix started out on the early internet so that customers could rent movies on DVD. During the late 1990s, Netflix announced it’s new subscription process that included the idea of unlimited rentals for a single monthly rate. Netflix transformed into a streaming network in 2007. By 2010, the service had over 20 million subscribers Over the course of the next few years, Netflix’s original TV shows and movies have since earned over 414 nominations from the Emmy's, Grammy’s, and Golden Globes.

Platform of Medias My client plans to use electronic devices to advertise our vast selection of mixed media on Netflix. We would like to advertise using videos, electronic magazines, and articles. It is very similar to what we use now in the countries and states Netflix is available in. Some examples of the websites we would advertise on is YouTube, and Google with pop up ads and video ads. Netflix also offers a free trial for about a week before having to send payments to the company. Our videos will be about 30 seconds long and will air for about a months time.

budget Netflix’s budget for advertising is about 2 million. That amount of money is going to provide more than enough to spread our service all over the internet on diverse websites that have large and small visitation rates. Netflix wants everyone to acknowledge our collection and services. My client and I want to interest a wide variety of people with different points of view and hobbies. NETFLIX

Time Frame We plan to have a time frame of about a month for advertising on television and selected websites. This gives us enough time to advertise comfortably about our collection. Our videos will air for this amount of time in the countries we are not available in.

Competitors Netflix has a number of competitors such as Hulu and HBO. Hulu is the most questionable one on the battle between Netflix and Hulu. Hulu Plus is $7.99 per month or $11.99 per month without ads and basic service is free but not all shows are available with the basic service and it does not work on smartphones and tablets. Hulu was founded in 2007 and as of 2016 has 3 million subscribers. They typically upload a new episode of a current show the day after it airs instead of until the whole season is over. Current season TV shows are generally available; availability of new movies is slow.

Benefits on the environment Netflix is an alternative for going to the movies or driving to a movie rental spot. This helps the environment by not putting more toxic gasses from our cars into the deteriorating atmosphere and air by driving to the movie theatre. Also with companies that ship DVDs, they are unaware that shipping discs around the country can be bad for the environment. Netflix provides a great opportunity to avoid that environmental problem by streaming online. Netflix, in a sense, creates a community for entertainment lovers. This brings people together and also friendships can occur.

Audiences we want to target As a company that has a wide variety of media with different genres and styles, we want to target all kinds of audiences with different interests and passions. Thrillers, sci-fi, romance, drama, and animations apply to wide varieties of many people in our native country and many foreign countries. We don’t want to target just one type of audience, we want to target all.
