Provincial nutrition committee Secretariat PNC Secretariats will facilitate multi-sectoral nutrition coordination within their respective provinces and provide the necessary leadership and support to districts Secretariats will act as a hub for coordination, planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting on the NNSPA interventions Support organization of the PNC meetings twice a year and Conduct PNC Secretariat meetings 4 times a year Develop the yearly and quarterly plan of action for PNC and provincial nutrition secretariat Support district coordination and planning

Coordination is a critical function for ensuring effective implementation of these priority interventions. In 2016 progress has been made to establish sub-national nutrition committees. This table shows those provinces that have a coordination committee in place. I urge all Governors to prioritize setting up a nutrition committee within their office and to take the lead in overseeing Multisectoral coordination and sector wide implementation.

Provincial nutrition committee secretariat facilitator Supported under EU/UNICEF partnership in 10 provinces; Phongsaly, Luangnamtha, Luangprabang, Bokeo, Houaphan, Xiengkhouang, Khammouane, Savannakhet, Saravane, Attapeu The main role of the Provincial Nutrition Committee Secretariat Facilitator is to provide support to the Provincial Nutrition Coordinator/ Focal Point and the functioning of the PNC Secretariat and to District coordination mechanisms The Provincial Nutrition Committee Secretariat Facilitator will report directly to the Provincial Nutrition Coordinator/ Focal Point Key tasks and deliverables include; PNC Secretariat quarterly and annual workplans Support PNC Secretariat and PNC meetings Support multisectoral monitoring and supervision activities Produce progress reports Facilitate data collection for stakeholder mapping exercise
