Updates to Keystones Business Rules

NEW Keystones Business Rules PVAAS District and School Reporting PVAAS School Reporting SPP Indicators of Academic Growth These business rules ONLY apply to PVAAS district/school reporting and the Indicators of Academic growth on the School Performance Profile (SPP). These business rules do NOT apply to PVAAS Teacher Specific reporting as the intent is to measure the academic growth of a teacher’s group of students during the reported school year.

NEW Keystones Business Rules PDE is committed to supporting thoughtful and strategic retesting of students on Keystone exams. The goal is to help students perform well and to reach their academic potential. PDE has changed the rules for including Keystone scores from students who have retested in calculating growth measures for districts and schools. The changes will help ensure that LEAs are not negatively impacted if students do not perform as expected when they retest with a Keystone assessment following remediation.

NEW Keystones Business Rules Beginning with the fall 2016 release of the 2015-16 PVAAS district/school reporting, a student’s highest Keystone assessment score from the 2015-16 school year will be used to calculate district and school growth, unless that score is lower than a score from previous years. Please see the letter explanation on our website or on the login site for PVAAS https://pvaas.sas.com/

NEW Keystones Business Rules This change brings the process of measuring growth for Keystone content areas into conceptual alignment with the approach used to determine the percentage of students who are proficient or advanced. Note: Only Keystone scores from a full administration of the exam will be considered for use in the analyses.
